Our wedding photos are pretty much finalized. We watched the DVD on Friday night. Everything turned out really nice. It was a real adventure taking the photos. Our photographers worked extra hard, drove us all over the Methow, hiked their gear down a few trails, and still got us back (more or less) on time for the ceremony.

The waterfall setting looks almost too good. Like a fake backdrop they would use at Sears, but it is real. It is just a short hike off a Forest Service road north of Winthrop. The bridge was a longer hike, about a half mile, which Sherry did in her dress and little red shoes.

The picture above is one of my favorites. There are also lots of good candid photos of our guests enjoying themselves. The cake photos also look really good. Mmmmm… cake.

Got back from our wedding-honeymoon on Friday night. We both had an amazing time with our family and friends in Mazama and just ourselves on Orcas Island. We have lots of photos from the San Juans and will have some from the wedding soon. If anyone has some of their own photos they want to share upload them to flickr and tag them “Lueders Bosse Wedding”.

Here is a picture of our kayak’s waiting for us on Sucia Island on Wednesday. This is just one of our many adventures, which also included biking around Lopez Island, some hiking, and lots of fine dining.

Spent last weekend in Mazama doing some wedding planning. It is pretty quiet over there this time of year. On Friday after driving in we had a nice dinner at the Freestone Inn, where we overheard about them going condo. On Saturday we poked around a swap meet in the Winthrop Barn (where Sherry scored some Patagonia long-johns), met with the flower lady and the caterer, lunched at the Twisp River Pub, and had dinner at the caterer’s house. Sunday we ate wedding cake for breakfast and headed back home.

We took some more photos of the Ranch House and barn since we don’t have any pictures of it without it covered in snow. Sherry’s digital camera decided to die last weekend so we had to resurrect her old manual SLR camera with a trip to the hardware store in Winthrop for some batteries. Luckily the photo’s turned out nice.

Just got back from a weekend trip to the Methow Valley for some wedding planning. Over two days we saw lots of hotels, lodges, cabins, met with a caterer, and even got some mountain biking in. We have a good idea of what we want now and have narrowed it down to just a few locations. Now we just need to make it all happen.

Friday night we stayed at the North Cascades Base Camp. We had the place all to ourselves. We met the new owner and his family. He gave us the grand tour of the camp. Its mainly a ski lodge in the winter and is slow in the summer. So there lots of room to schedule our wedding in there.

Saturday we stayed down the road at the Mazama Ranch House. We were one of the few guests who did not bring their horses. There was some sort of natural horse training going on in the corral when we got there. When we left the next morning for our bike ride all the horse owners were gathering on the lawn with their yoga balls.

As Sherry and I start planning our wedding we are going to need all the inspiration we can get. What did the Google guy do for his wedding?

Google has declined to disclose any details of the wedding, but according to various news reports, the location was such a closely guarded secret that wedding guests boarded the jet owned by Mr. Brin and Mr. Page unaware of their exact destination until they arrived on a private island in the Bahamas.

Guests who attended said the bride wore a white swimsuit, the groom a black one. Some guests took a boat while others — including the bride and groom — swam to a nearby sandbar, where the couple exchanged vows.
