The weather finally cleared up enough to get the painters here to put a new coat on the house. After painting most of the inside of the house green we have switched to blue. The outside has the same color scheme as our bathroom. Also the blue is just a few shades lighter than the neighbor’s house. Hopefully he doesn’t mind.

Took the painters about a week and most of that was prep. Once they got out the sprayer it only took a few hours to paint. Of course they chose what might end up as the hottest week of the summer to paint. Coming home Friday night to a wrapped up house after highs in the 90s was not fun.

Made it! After living in a construction site for three weeks we finally have our bathroom back. I learned a lot during the whole process. I now know that every inch counts, especially in a small bathroom. Even at three bucks a square foot, tile cost a hell of a lot. Most bathroom fixtures are really ugly. Also you can find some good deals for bathroom fixtures on Google. Here is the before and after in all its glory.

I had to drive down to SODO on Friday to pick it up from the warehouse. Hopefully everything will be done on Monday once the plumber tracks down a metric threaded supply line for the toilet.

Everything has been torn out. Including our old tub which they cracked in half with a sledge hammer. The tub might have been salvageable if it was taken care of in the past.

Everything has gone well so far. The plumbers were here working late Wednesday night with the water off. They patched up the walls on Friday. I think they are going to paint next week and start in on the tile.

Living without a full bath pretty much sucks. At least we are getting in shape every morning with our visits to the gym.

Spring has been good to us. Lots of rain means a happy lawn. Now, our garden could use some summer sun, which we are getting plenty of this weekend.

It’s also been a good year for my single hop plant. It has grown feet past its previous record. Usually, it doesn’t even grow past the small pole I give it to climb. This year it has grown past that and is even growing past the temporary twine I’ve given it to climb. I believe this is its fourth summer, and I might actually get a crop out of it this year.
