Remodel IV

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

IMG_1506 (600x800) Almost done! The plumbers have been working late the last few days putting in the fixtures. Who knew these European fixtures were such a pain to install? Even the light fixture took an unusual bulb. I had to drive down to SODO on Friday to pick it up from the warehouse. Hopefully everything will be done on Monday once the plumber tracks down a metric threaded supply line for the toilet.

Remodel III

IMG_1501 (600x800) The bathroom is starting to come together. They painted the walls and tiled the floor and shower. The tile looks pretty darn sweet. Especially when compared with what was there before. It would be nice if they were done next week but that does not look likely.

Remodel II

IMG_1483 (800x600)We have survived the first week of the remodel. Everything has been torn out. Including our old tub which they cracked in half with a sledge hammer. The tub might have been salvageable if it was taken care of in the past.

Everything has gone well so far. The plumbers were here working late Wednesday night with the water off. They patched up the walls on Friday. I think they are going to paint next week and start in on the tile.

Living without a full bath pretty much sucks. At least we are getting in shape every morning with our visits to the gym.

Remodel

Our bathroom remodel starts tomorrow morning. Out with the old poorly done early 80’s remodeled bathroom and in with the new. We have a basement full of tile and new fixtures ready to go. It is going to be rough living in a construction site for the next few weeks but it should be worth it in the end.

All the King’s Men

Sunday, November 9th, 2008

Went to see All the King’s Men at the Intiman on Thursday night. It was a great compliment to Tuesday night’s election. Hopefully Obama’s career will have a happier ending. Our theater going is generally directed more at the lower budget operations, like Seattle Shakespeare, so it was fun to see a full on production. We are definitely going to catch some of Intiman’s next season.
