Enchantments

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

We spent last weekend hiking the Enchantments. I was there about six years ago and it was really fun to finally get back. We did the hike one way in four days and three nights from the Snow Lakes parking lot over and down Aasgard Pass to Colchuck Lake. We had great weather on Friday and Saturday. The hike down Aasgard Pass was grueling and Sunday night at Colchuck Lake was pretty stormy. Check out the photos here.

Wedding Photos

WeddingOur wedding photos are pretty much finalized. We watched the DVD on Friday night. Everything turned out really nice. It was a real adventure taking the photos. Our photographers worked extra hard, drove us all over the Methow, hiked their gear down a few trails, and still got us back (more or less) on time for the ceremony.

CakeThe waterfall setting looks almost too good. Like a fake backdrop they would use at Sears, but it is real. It is just a short hike off a Forest Service road north of Winthrop. The bridge was a longer hike, about a half mile, which Sherry did in her dress and little red shoes.

The picture above is one of my favorites. There are also lots of good candid photos of our guests enjoying themselves. The cake photos also look really good. Mmmmm… cake.

The photos are online at here. Prints can be ordered on Shutterfly.

Popups

These new popup tent trailers look pretty cool. I could see the SylvanSport Go trailer on our family’s future road trips.

Berkeley Park

IMG_1251Headed out last Saturday for a hike on Mount Rainier. The weather was not ideal to say the least. This picture was taken on Sunday which was the nice day. We hiked in a shower on Saturday.

We hiked west out of the Sunrise parking lot across Berkeley Park. Over Skyscraper pass and down to our campsite at Granite Creek. About five miles, one way. Never saw the Mountain and it never broke sixty degrees the whole trip. Off to the Enchantments next weekend.
